This blows
Tired, exhausted. YesTd was hell. Waiting for faxes from the other side of the world that never came. Didn't get in till 10pm. Wasn't in mood to go out. Working sucks. All this for ten bucks an hour. I can't believe people do this for the rest of their life. How the hell do you live? How the hell do you have a life?
I have a sore throat and a bit of a headache. I just want to stay in bed all day. My cell phone is turned off. But I have to leave for passover.

The first office job I had in my life was the summer after sophomore year of college. I could not *believe* how tiring it was. It seemed silly to me - how tiring could it be to sit at a desk all day? - but after a lifetime of doing various different things all day in HS and college (taking classes, doing sports and activities, going from place to place all over campus), it is totally enervating to try to sit at a desk all day and concentrate. Take heart, PP. Try to give yourself a reason to get up and leave your desk and move around the office once an hour or so, if you can. And remember, you're paying your dues. That which does not kill you makes you stronger. Think of it as building up your "office muscle" so that someday, when you discover what you truly love to do for a living, you will have the requisite ability to do it in an office setting all day without blowing your top. It really does take practice.
*WHY* are you only being paid $10 hour if you are kept there until 10 pm? You should check out your firm's overtime policy, lest you are being gypped for your time. Silly YOU.
